and folders in your current web.
Click
on the Navigation Icon to the left.
The
Navigation window shows in pictures what the structure of your web looks
like…kind of a graphic organizer.
Your
homepage is indicated by a little house and in a minute you will import the page
you have already done into your web. But first let’s add the other pages, one
for each of the places we want to visit.
The
easy way is to click on Homepage, hold down the control key and press N for new.
Do this four times…and you have four new pages!
Title
them…use the tab to move to each icon and type in the names of the pages, hit
enter, then tab to the next box …London, Paris, Japan and San Francisco.

Now
lets bring the page we already made into the web…
In
the Navigation view click on homepage
A
blank page opens up
Go
to Insert…File
Now
you have to navigate to the place where you stored that first page…the desktop
Click
on the “Anywhere” file
Click
on OPEN
Your
page appears on the blank page
SAVE
It
asked if you want to save the embedded files (those are the pictures you
inserted) say OK
You
will see them appear in your folder list…I usually click on each one and drag
it into the image folder.
Let's
connect one of our pages to the Homepage. How about going to London?
In
the folder view double click on London
Lets
put a picture on the page
Go
back to that site you minimized earlier
Go
to Landmarks…. Parliament…. enlarge the picture…. right click on the
picture and SAVE AS…give your file a name and make sure you are saving it to
the desktop.
Now we are ready to add it to our web.
Go
to FILE…IMPORT
This
window appears
Click on Add File
Go to the desktop and find your Picture of the Parliament.
Click OPEN
The file appears in the widow to the left.
Click OK
The picture appears in the folder list
Move it into the image folder
Go
to Insert…Picture…from From File and this box appears
Navigate to the Anywhere Folder
Click
on the Images Folder
Click
on the Parliament Gif
Click
OK

Go
to Format…Position…
Click
on left
Now
you can type anything you want to the left.

Highlight
the word London
This box opens up
In this case we will not be connecting to a URL but
to a page in our web
Click on
London.htm (your page)
London.htm appears in the URL box
Click OK
Now
when you look at your page word London is a different color and underlined. This
indicates that it is linked to another location.
You
know enough now to go forth and build your own web!
Unless
you have a place to actually publish your web to, you can read over these steps
but don’t do them.
Go
to File…Publish Web or click the Publish Web Button

This
is where you will specify the location on the World Wide Web, or your district
intranet to which you want to publish your web.
If
you do not have one, by clicking on WPP’s you can locate and sign on with one.
