How about using the Stock Market Hype to teach multiplication...

Students can learn to read the Stock Quotes in the Business Section of the Newspaper, and then they insert the information into an EXCEL document and multiply by 1, 2, or 3 place numbers (shares of the stock they own)

What a great way to practice several skills at once and have fun doing it!
